Jacqueline “Jack” Anderson should be settling into her new role as Hand to Houston’s foremost demon, but she can’t move on without knowing who attacked her brother. She hopes the answer lies in his last case: the kidnapping of a Senator’s daughter. 

As Jack investigates, her unease grows. First, there’s an unlocked window. An unexplained cut. Is her nerve betraying her, or is there something more sinister at play? Jack isn’t sure if she’s paranoid, or if someone really out to get her.
